The Blues

Fitness out of the fog.

Fitness out of the fog.

I woke up with the blues the Robert Johnson blues. No sun-beams flooding through my window, it was cool and foggy out there. I knew exactly what to do, to sing is the thing. I popped out of bed like a Champaign cork with the bubbles of enthusiasm pushed me to Pauline’s door. “Come on Sweet Heart, out of the cot we got things to do, me and you!” She needed no prompting, she knew what great opportunities a foggy morning brought.

I could not keep her from the Burl Ives ‘Foggy foggy dew’.  On with our cloths and up up and away like Wonder Woman and Clark Kent, I am being mild-mannered and modest. Don’t get carried away, we took off in the car; I want this to be believable. We parked at the lake and took flight on foot. Two fast guns shooting all in sight, here are some of my trophies. To give you an idea of what Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra is like at seven, on a foggy morn. Pauline will show more in her blog and put more information.

Today is first day of Canberra’s Floriade day.

We return the sun now shines,

We return the sun now shines,

Christen and Spencer are visiting us to see this spectacular flower display.  After breakfast it was back to the lake but by now parking was limited but Pauline had it all planed to we parked at the gallery and walked back across the bridge. I just go with the flow, wu wei, Pauline is the planer. I go with the flow and trust my luck, I got heaps of that.

At the gate our meeting place.

At the gate our meeting place.

Meet back here at the gate at 12.30 if we get separated Pauline suggested. I was back at the trysting place early and people watched for ten minutes and they were ten minutes early.

I suggested back in a taxi as we had already done a fair hike. Pauline had also taken the dog for its walk while I did the washing up and set the fire, ready for a match tonight. No taxis allowed into Floriade area well it was not in Pauline’s plan anyway. What happened to my luck well we needed the exercise. Here are some photos to give you glimpse of Floriade.

We went to the National Museum of Australia, as they have a choice menu and it is a fantastic monument  of architectural splendour. We savoured delectable dishes while gazing out the windows on to the lake, the fountain was now pumping and sail boats and ferry were out there enhancing the scenery.

Feasting the eyes while savouring lunch, this is true nourishment.

Then explored this fair dinkum  Aussie museum .

With a couple of rest stops at the Revolving theatre with Aussie history and a lay-back relax in the there showing Aussie life style. My camera was clicking like a cricket hyped up on coke.  Get an eye full of this sample.

Next stop the Nishi building.

We drive to New Acton area for Cappuccino.

We enjoyed the day, especially as we were with our friends. Back home they watched TV and chatted while I caught up with my blog friends, but get carried away with a You Tube video in Zeebra’s post. That got me tuned in on the Cajun swamp music and the Blues. All the old guys that I have enjoyed throughout the years, from our wild days, to now when the music still lifts us up and gets us revving.

I was there with those blokes jamming, winding up with J. J. Cale till after midnight.  It was a real blues day, a blue skies day. With good friends who have travelled the world as show people, both musicians. Spencer actually jammed with Jagger when he was only a pebble not a big rolling stone.

Finding the right partner is not easy.

There are ways to catching the perfect partner. You should have no problem if you are rich and sexy yourself. If not you will have to make yourself more appealing to the opposite sex and mix in the right social circles. You will not find a suitable partner mixing in with unsavory company. To mix with good company you will have to work on any short comings you may have. If you are unfit start an exercise routine and get on a healthy diet. If you lack communication skills join a Toastmasters Club, take elocution lessons. The public library and your computer can assist you to improve your eligibility in achieving a better life. Smile, be kind and gracious do whatever it takes to make you shine in company.

This will increase your circle of friends and friends are invaluable. In the business world this is called networking and leads to valuable profits. Friends are worth more than gold in all walks of life. Understand there are no free gifts in life you have to work on self-improvement to better your prospects in life. Understanding life is not easy it is ever-changing in unpredictable ways. Expecting things to be always as we would like brings disappointment. What brings joy into your life is having the right attitude. Practice thinking clearly and being aware of your emotions. So you can accept a critical remark calmly and rationalize whether it is valid and constructive or destructive and hurtful. It is constructive if it shows you a fault you can work on to fix. If it is designed only to upset you it is better to smile and not acknowledge the insult. This will have a boomerang effect hurting the one who is hurtful. It is our choice how we react to all things if we take the time to consider the matter.

Behind the scenes.

Behind the scenes.

Staying calm under pressure is an important way to impress the right people. You have to put effort into being a nice person to attract nice people. You need the right qualities to succeed in any quest. Being constantly aware of your thoughts, emotions, speech and actions is not easy. You may need to practice meditation to calm those invasive thoughts that come into the mind uninvited like static on the radio. Success in finding the right partner will depend on how successful you are in your self-improvement. As the saying goes, ‘If you want a certain thing, first you must become a certain person. Then that certain thing is of no further concern of yours.’

Up front.

Up front.

If you follow steps in self-improvement you will benefit in many ways and not be disappointed. It is wanting and desires that drives us to great achievement. Unreasonable, greedy wanting can also bring much unhappiness if we are ignorant of the true nature of life. That the nature of life is not stable and it is impartial to our desires. We must go with the flow of nature it will not bend its laws to suit man. Wanting has to be balanced with need, wanting more than we need is greed and greed, laziness and hatred are the three things that destroy our happiness. Life is ever-changing work to stay in balance. If we can work in harmony with life in loving kindness we will find peace and contentment.

Nothing to hide.

Nothing to hide.

Riches and sex are subject to change all pleasures are fleeting. Caring and sharing are more stable. If you are looking for the perfect partner you must realize a perfect person will not tolerate your imperfections. You had better start working on any flaws in your character. I have found my perfect partner she is just perfect for me. She is easily satisfied; all she wants is a person to share life’s twists and turns, someone to share the laughter and the pain. She is wise and knows dependability and sincerity is better than money in the bank. Those handsome looks time erodes and it is hidden beauty in the heart that is important.

Another tail.

Telling tales about a tail.

I love to see beauty and am satisfied I do not need to possess it. As Robbie Burns wrote, ‘for pleasures are like poppies spread, you seize the flower the bloom is shed or like the snow-fall on the river, one moment white then lost forever.’ We can appreciate without owning something. Antique stores are like zoos to look is wonderful and you do not have the responsibility of housing, storing and caring for all you are enjoying.
