You may think I am telling lies and guilty of other things you despise.
I don’t believe in a God made to look like me.
That bribes us with promises of eternity.
So I am bared from heaven for this alone.
By an Almighty God that makes it known.
He is jealous and revengeful as well,
Casting all non-believers into hell.
Threatening our kids will suffer too, for the misdeeds that we do.
I don’t want to go to a boring heaven.
Where there’s peace and quiet 24/7.
The photos are fun my words are dead serious.
Those that do believe I implore.
Don’t wreck my world with your holy war.
This is the only heaven I know.
There is no other place to go.
To be good you don’t need commanding.
All you need is understanding.
Enjoy a simple life free from arguments, trouble and strife.
Appreciate the gifts in the here and now.
They are all you have anyhow.
Gifts a bound big and solid all around.
To look after the gifts take conscious care.
No greed or hate, we must love and share.
I do not care what God you chose.
I am not walking in your shoes.
If I were standing were you stand.
Then perhaps I might understand.
Small gifts worth noticing and appreciating.
No one is evil in my book.
It is the wrong path they took,
Jews, Christians, Muslims as well.
Their family feud makes life a hell.
They make up stories to understand,
What is beyond the intellect of man.
“Smile Sweetie you are on ‘candid camera’. so are you baby.”
The Canberra Floriade was a joy not only because of the flowers. The weather was perfectly tempered warm sunshine. That made the flowers dazzlingly brilliant in a beautiful area by the lake. Everyone was in a friendly mood that match this spectacular free show.
Life is a picnic to enjoy.
There were people from many different lands all mixing friendly and happily. Australia is a multi-cultural land. I was reminded of the song ” We Are One But We Are Many”.
Their love shows.
I took almost as many photos of people as flowers. Because I knew I would do a post showing how we are really all brothers and sisters.
They are bubbling with love.
We all enjoy Natures beauty, we all feel the same joys and the same sorrows.
It is times like the Floriade that we forget our problem and unite in the appreciation of our good fortune.
I hope this post with my poem spreads the goodwill felt on this wonderful occasion.
A loving scene.
Consider, Consideration.
Beautiful flowers every to look at.
No one is bad for having a different view.
I do not want to change the world it is such a lovely place.
There is something we may want to change and that’s the human race.
Slow down life is not a race,
we all end up in the same place.
This was taken at the National War Museum.
If I raise my voice in an angry shout,
Tell the people what it’s all about.
To argue fight protest and start a war.
These things have all been done before.
To let them be is a good decision.
There can be no war without division.
Slow down and enjoy.
The whole cosmos is interconnected,
This is a thought to be reflected.
All that is needed is to love one another.
Then a wonderful world we discover.
In nature everything changes,
Nothing is lost it just rearranges.
Our body consists of atoms of matter,
When we die those atoms scatter.
Smiling beautifully.
Wasting time grieving about anger, envy and hate.
Enjoy this fleeting world before it is too late.
Unbiased living, loving, kind and caring.
Appreciate the world we are sharing.
Carried away with flowers.
Chew on these words of nourishment.
Changing ourselves should be our intent.
We cannot force other people to agree.
Show by your example for them to see.
A load of beautiful flowers.
With this understanding of life,
We are free from trouble and strife.
There is no problem in the world it is in us.
A change of attitude stops the fear and fuss.
Love is everywhere.
Improve yourself every day.
To show the world a better way
If some are too ignorant to see.
It is their problem, do you agree?
If you know of a better way,
Please do not hesitate to say.
Enjoying life with out a care.
We must stay calm to hear another person’s views.
Be unemotional and put ourselves in the others shoes.
If we could stand in their position.
There would be a whole transition.
Our view would alter in perspective.
We would become more reflective.
He looks happy has he found contentment?
We do not have to agree,
Only understand and see.
No one is bad for having a different view.
It becomes a problem when forced on you.
Love flowers everywhere.
One must consider with an open mind.
Leaving judgemental prejudices behind.
Weigh up the facts then understand,
You are now right the world is grand.
Happy serving lunch a great attitude.
Take time to consider and appreciate the other side of the equation.
Love, compassion and consideration are all that is needed as persuasion.
Enjoy the day, do not fritter it away. Not to appreciate what you are given is an insult to the provider. Be grateful for all the priceless gifts that have been given to us free of cost.
“Just do it!”
The ocean and the beach are far better than any man-made pool to bathe in. Be grateful for the fresh air, the blue sky, the sunshine and the sandy beach.
A walk in the park.
The world is vast with so much to see and do. No matter where you are there are wonders to behold and things to enjoy. Do not waste your time on status symbols. Spend your time wisely.
“But pleasures are like poppies spread,
You seize the flower the bloom is shed;
Or like the snow fall on the river,
One moment white then lost forever.”
Robert Burns, From Tam O’shanter.
‘Waking up this morning, I smile,
Twenty-four brand new hours are before me.
I vow to live fully in each moment and look at all beings with compassion.’
Thich Nhat Hanh. Incidentally he has another book out called “Savour“ I enjoy all his writing.
Fit and healthy.
If one does not appreciate their body they will not be able to enjoy all the many blessings to the full. If man does not appreciate all natures gifts they will diminish. This is our opportunity to seize this day with loving open arms.
I am like the grandfather clock, obsolete. I have been ticking for a long time now. This old ticker of mine has pumped enough blood to fill a Lake Argyle. Round and round I go in the same old circles, repeating the same repetitive chimes everyone has heard before. I used to be more like an alarm clock, wind me up and I could be relied on to go off like crazy. Other people, not educated ornithologists, associate me with the cuckoo clock.
A bird in a clock is not worth one in the bush.
Life was leisurely before we became so reliant on the chronometer. The rooster crowed and it roused us from dream land. It was time to think about what we needed to do that day. To put food on the table and protection from the elements. Through the day the position of the sun let us know how we were doing.
Cloudy days were declared holidays.
We looked forward to a beautiful sun set to let us know it was time to rest. To sit around the camp fire till it turned to embers and another day was done.
Grandmother and Grandfather clocks.
Then some fool invented the clock, a dictator to rule our life. The clock has become so precise one can lose the race by a fraction of a second. There are no ties or dead-heats, you either win or lose in the digital rodent event. The sundial was not too hard to adapt to. The hour-glass was a bit disturbing, what will happen when the sand runs out and no one is around to put it right? Then the villain with face and hands came along. Telling us to hurry up or be left behind. Left behind, what a cheek, it is not right!
Buy one if you are looking for trouble.
We may protest but still want a Rolex, not to tell us the time but as a status symbol. A Rolex is unnecessary we have our mobile phone for telling us the time and heaps of other stuff to clutter our life. We do not have to wind the clock up we are the ones whose main spring is being put under tension. Stop being so preoccupied with time. You do not need all these precision instruments to be happy. All that is necessary is the sun in the morning and the moon at night.
Time does not stop Watchers do.
A book of verses under the bough,
A jug of wine, a loaf of bread and thou,
Beside me in the wilderness,
O, wilderness, were paradise anon!
…………. I only know two verses…
Ah, make the most of what we yet may spend,
Before we too unto the dust descend
Dust unto dust and under dust to lie,
San wine, san song, san singer and san end.
These lines are an English translation of a poem attributed to Omar Khayyam.
