What can be achieved if we work at it.

What can be achieved if we work at it.

Weeding the Garden.

Pauline at work.

Pauline at work.

Every problem is an opportunity for growth. Life is a problem if we think what is taught in the school room is all we need to know. Learning should extend beyond the classroom. We must think for our self and look for facts to substantiate what we are told. We need more than blind faith in others.

Jack plaing in the garden.

Jack playing in the garden.

Weeds grow and flourish with no assistance from the gardener. In the garden of our mind weeds can thrive if we are not aware and constantly weeding out the unwanted negative thoughts.

Zen Garden ,note the tree shadow on the rock.

Zen Garden ,note the tree shadow on the rock.

Plant instead seeds of love, hope, peace and contentment. They will grow and produce medicine that will cure hate and despair and calming the stress in our life. Grow strong by planting good wholesome seeds.

Focus your mind on good and feed good thoughts into your mind as everything you experience influences your mind either positively or negatively.

Distance yourself from the toxic poison, that is too plentiful, in the modern world.

Weeds are always trying to invade.

Weeds are always trying to invade.

In technical terms all the sensory perception you come in contact with affect the neural activity in your brain. Repeated experiences leave lasting changes in the brain. You could say repeated thoughts and actions form habits that can be beneficial or detrimental, depending on what you come in contact with.

Zigzagging bright contrast.

Zigzagging bright contrast.

To find happiness, peace and contentment you need to plant good seeds in the garden of your mind and repeatedly weed out weeds that are overrunning and destroying your beautiful, peaceful garden.

A feast for the eyes.

A feast for the eyes.

The underlying cause of all life’s wonders and woes, man has created or destroyed, all the joy or pain can be traced to what man has planted in his brain, the garden of his mind.

A joy to behold.

A joy to behold.

Over centuries of history man has planted mostly weeds in the garden of his mind. The seeds of ignorance, fear, greed and hate flourished. Ignorance created gods, fear created submission to shaman, witch doctors and priests that claimed they could communicate with a god or the gods. Greed, hate and ignorance flourished under these conditions till the renaissance.

A star for perfection.

A star for perfection.

These mistakes must be put behind us. We should think for ourselves not blindly believing comments from witch doctors, spin doctors, or media rubbish.

Nourishment from the garden.

Nourishment from the garden.

A point I made in my post ‘Elvis Lives’ shows one way to calculate the truth. Occam’s Razor is another problem solving principal that can be explained this way, ‘assume that the most straight forward or simplest explanation is the most likely to be the truth.’ I believe looking at people’s past history and their motives for making a statement helps make a correct decision on the value of their words.

The love of a garden...

The love of a garden…

Try to avoid most of the unsavoury, think and act positive. One suggestion is watch the news but not every time the same dreadful news is repeated. My wish is by keeping actively weeding you garden you harvest an abundance of nutrious vegetables, fruit and the flowers bloom in splendour.

is a garden of love.

Especially for you.

Especially for you.

Love potion use as instructions specified.

When I asked, “Do you believe in god.”

she said “No there is only a devil. If there was a god bad things would not happen.”

“You don’t believe the stories in the bible?”

“Not all the stories.”

“Why not?”

“Because it was written by men for men they made God a man. There is no missus God.”
“So what do you believe?”

“I believe greed is a sin, if there was not greed everyone would have enough and be happy.”

“Is greed the cause of all the problems in the world?”

“Ignorance, fear and greed are the causes of all evil, all good things are the result of kindness.”

“You sound like a Buddhist.”

“Religion causes arguments. Let’s change the subject, or we will finish up fighting, let’s make love not war.”

Comferdentually.

Not from the mouths of these babes,

By love she meant adult play, it was uninhibited physical passionate engagement.
The word love used loosely, as I often do, is ambiguous the word love needs adjectives to define it. Unconditional love – agape in Greek as apposed to Eros or the word meta the Pali word – like parental love.

Wise words.

Wise words.

My inhibitions prevented me from acting in a totally relaxed and natural way. I loved her and always will remember her free uninhibited love.
Religion gets people mixed up and perverted about their body. Causing natural behaviour to be distorted and can be the cause of mental disorders. Priests, monks and nuns, forced to live an unnatural life, come under a lot of pressure. Recently the Catholic Church has been embarrassed by priests charged with paedophilia.

A red rose has thorns.

A red rose has thorns.

I do not believe these people are evil it is what they are afflicted with that is the problem. Removing these impurities and defilements would restore the person. As waste water is filtered and becomes useful so can corrupt humans, in most cases be reformed.

Passion flower.

Passion flower.

Circumstances play a big part in our life. Life can be turbulent or calm; when we are having a bad hair day we are not at our best. Aussies are good sports men, no underhand play (bowling), when they are winning.
The point is get all the facts don’t be quick to condemn. There is a lot of good in the worst of us and a lot of bad in the best of us, so it is not right for the best of us to judge the rest of us. Who is going to cast the first stone?

Am I a Buddhist?

Pauline in action.

Pauline in action.

Pauline’s post about Watt Buddharangsee, meaning Move or Change Places Temple, prompted me to think, All schools of Buddhism have the basic logical (Dharma) teachings of The Buddha. The Four Noble Truths and The Eightfold Path.

This photo shows the wheel with eight spokes.

This shrine shows the wheel with eight spokes.

The countries of South East Asia that have adopted Buddhism have incorporated their own cultures and customs in it. This resulted in many different varieties of Buddhism.

Inside the Stupa.

Still the fundamental teachings are the same. To abstain from all kinds of evil, promote all that is beneficial and purify the mind.

Stupa out side.

Stupa out side.

To understand all things are impermanent and subject to change, abstain from all kinds of evil and personally develop ethical behaviour, as outlined in the Buddha’s basic teaching. Consequently there have been no major conflicts between different Buddhist religious groups.

Pauline put this photo in her post.

Pauline put this photo in her post.

The three major Abrahamic religions conversely are in aggressive conflict for domination. Regardless of the fact that their God, the one they claim to be almighty, condemns killing.

Why is this abandoned little church?

Why is this little church abandoned?

Perhaps Lau Tzu had it right when he said “The Tao that can be named is not the true Tao.” (The Tao is the inexplicable force that keeps the whole cosmos in equilibrium.) Another aspect of Taoism is yin and yang, when yin and yang are in balance it is believed to be perfect harmony. This is described as Wu Wei meaning in flow with nature.

The trees were an ideal setting for the Stupa.

The trees were an ideal setting for the Stupa.

I am not a Taoist, Buddhist, Hindu and defiantly not one of the many factions of the Abrahamic dogmas, Jews, Christians or Muslims with their multitude of denomination all arguing for dominance.

The trees looked good from all angles.

The trees looked good from all angles.

I believe they all have the same good basic ethics but much of the good is lost in the belief in the supernatural, other myths and wishful thinking.

It is just the way the cads fall.

It is just the way the cards fall.

Note you may like to look at Pauline’s post first as the photos relate to it.

The master plan.

I am the one made them fall this way.

I am the one made them fall this way.

The wisdom of the sages

passed down through the ages.

Still we do not know,

Love is the way to go.

It is not too bad at all.

It is not too bad at all.

Man could not explain,

the sunshine and the rain.

Only Gods could know,

so they were made to show.

These photos are not related to this post.

These photos are not related to this post.

The perplexing mystery of all creation,

was solved by gods from every nation.

Then the arguments began,

who had the correct plan.

Ironic my previous post was 'Enjoy Your Trip.

Ironic my previous post was ‘Enjoy Your Trip.

To keep control it would seem,

One God must be made supreme.

His foot prints in the sands of time,

Can appear to this day as sublime.

I put a photo in it titled ' We Do not know what pain is.'

I put a photo in it titled ‘ We Do not know what pain is.’

Mother Nature still exists,

though patriarchal Gods persist.

The puzzle still remains today,

Can science now show the way?

It is true I was given Penthrox Inhaler and later Brufin pill and water.

It is true I was given Penthrox Inhaler and later Brufin pills and water.

Or will technology be used to fight,

to see who’s God is in the right.

All the good we have today

Could be just blown away.

I am now ok the pain has gone away.

I am now ok the pain has gone away.

Appreciation, love and trust,

in today’s world it is a must.

Ignorance, greed, fear and hate,

Mother Nature will not tolerate.

Pauline told you of my strife, now sparkle is back in my life.

Pauline told you of my strife, now the sparkle is back in my life.

Mother Nature is eternally sublime.

Man is mortal and will pass on in time.

A grain of sand or the starry sky,

it will not matter as time passes by.

I reminded her to record drama, as it was related to my Dharma.

I reminded her to record the drama, as it was related to my Dharma.

All the blood sweat and tears,

all our stupid arguments and fears.

Why waste our time on pie in the sky?

When it is only a few years before we die.

I am back at the Gym, trying to keep in trim.

I am back at the Gym, trying to keep in trim.

Do not cry, we never die, we only change.

Atoms never destruct they only rearrange.

We may turn into dust mites floating on the morning breeze,

or into song birds singing in the tall green trees.

Jack and Tim at the Gym.

Let us prepare here today,

to live our life in a better way.

Caring and sharing in peace and calm.

Wake up! these words are your clock alarm.

Wondrous.

Where is the Answer?

Fantastic.

Fantastic.

If I believed in miracles I would pray, the unanswered prayer, peace on earth and good will to all mankind.

My quiet tranquil hide away.

My quiet tranquil hide away.

If I were a believer in the patriarchal God I would spend Jesus’s birthday in a secluded quiet place, calm and relaxed, paying thanks to my God for the natural wonders surrounding me. No matter what your beliefs are, being thankful, sharing and appreciating nature’s free gifts is a stress free way to spend every day.

There is serenity here also.

There is serenity here also.

From all the accounts I have read Jesus was a kind compassionate pacifist. I really do not think he would appreciate the frantic way many of his followers are celebrating his birthday. He would be appalled at the way our commercial society has capitalised on his birthday.

Love past present and future.

Love past present and future.

Love is not something you can buy and wrap up in coloured paper.

Pretty decorations.

Pretty decorations.

Just because I cannot bring myself to believe in miracles does not stop me from appreciating those that sincerely do believe. I still respect a person that follows an ethical path of loving kindness like Jesus exemplified.

Crucifixion Orchards.

Crucifixion Orchards.

Those that feel the need to visit loved ones during the festive season drive curiously, cautiously and carefully. To those that feel obligated to give gifts, be wise in what you can afford. Those with a weight problem, have the will power to show restraint. All things in moderation, never forget alcohol is a criminal, safe till it escapes from the bottle.

Enjoy the wonder of it all.

Enjoy the wonder of it all.

A Bad Day in Paradise.

Steps to the War Museum.

Steps to the War Museum.

Please don’t read this if you are gentle a Jew, a kind Christian or a meek Muslim. Not because I fear the Jihad it is because there are a lot of kind believers and I would not want to upset them or burst their bubble.

the memorial section of the museum.

the memorial section of the museum.

This post is for me, to get it off my chest so to speak. I am upset with our politicians. Tony Abbott our Prime Minister has us gun-runners to the Kurds. John Howard got us involved in the mess in Iraq about twelve years ago and it has been festering ever since. It will do no good, there has been bloody religious wars for ages, they never learn.

Names of the dead line both sides above the pool.

Names of the dead line both sides above the pool.

The Abrahamic God had no wife. He was playing by himself with himself when he made man, in his own image, out of mud and he has been playing war games with us ever since. Is this an ego trip he is having or did man with his big ego make God in his likeness?

The Unknown Soldier.

The Unknown Soldier.

Without fur or feathers man has to fight to survive, to cloth himself in a harsh environment. Without the eyes of an eagle or cat, nose of a dog or the superior senses of other animals. Using his mind he has invented the equivalent abilities, man now thinks himself a God.

Red paper poppies by the names of recent dear.

Red paper poppies and the names of recent dead.

There is something inexpressible beyond man’s comprehension keeping everything in the cosmos in equilibrium, that man is upsetting with his Abrahamic godlike attitude. Regardless of mortal man it will restore itself. It is eternal and has all the time and patience to outlast man.

Right and wrong.

Right and wrong.

This world is good, but man wants more. God has heaven this is supposed to be perfect, something for man to look forward to, if he is invited.

Peace is what in wanted.

Peace is what is wanted.

If man obeys, for this god tells us he is a vengeful god. 20: 2-6 (esv)

Another mistake, will they never learn.

Another mistake, will they never learn.

Apparently god was not all knowing when he created the earth or he would not have put that tree in the garden and commanded Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit. Or maybe he was all-knowing and realised all good stories need drama. The Bible is a great story with plenty of drama, sex and violence. May be he thought the plot needed a bit of nudity and fig leaves would add to the curiosity.

Thanks for risking your life.

Thanks for risking your life.

Google could not say how many bibles have been printed or how many revisions and new additions have been printed. But it must have been a Google. How many times has it been revised? It is definitely one remarkable book dreamt up by God and edited by man.

Vietnam should taught us better how to look after our garden.

Vietnam should have taught us better how to look after our garden.

People with righteous intentions arguing, protesting, supplying weapons and fighting wars will never find peace. Peace is found only in loving kindness. Without asking the people politicians take violent action.

They are not having a picnic.

They are not having a picnic.

Are they only puppets, having their strings pulled by the manufactures of weapons of mass destruction? Blow it up, then rebuild it, keeps the wheels of commerce rolling.  Politicians should spend taxes in better ways than running guns.

Natures Way.

Natures Way.

Natures way.

Simply beautiful.

Simply beautiful.

Standing in natures green cathedral blessed by serenity,

The forest is sacred; there is no better place to be.

Slow down to appreciate the beauty, smell the scent upon the breeze.

Listen to the bird songs and appreciate the trees.

Lao Tzu rode a buffalo that is considered slow today.

Lao Tzu trained his buffalo to support him on his ‘Way’.

Training the bufflo.

Training the buffalo.

Haste was not a priority he just went with the flow.

Today out on the road that is something we should know.

Walk to the valley, follow the mountain stream.

Meander to enjoy all nature’s gifts supreme.

Waddle by the watter.

Waddle by the water.

Stroll to the ocean, earth-out bare foot on the ground.

Let others wanting more, power the tread mill round.

Bath in the cleansing water, glad to be alive,

The wisdom is you need few things to survive.

Go with the flow.

Go with the flow.

The importance of time spent this way,

Is we are refreshed to earn our pay.

For necessities needed to sustain life.

Wanting more brings trouble and strife.

Lau Tzu spoke of yin and yang to balance work with play.

The Buddha taught wanting was a problem that got in the way.

Garden ornament.

Garden ornament.

To understand all in life flows like a mountain stream.

We cannot cling to water or capture a sunbeam.

When we have surplus to what we need,

Then to hoard not share is only greed.

Balance greed with kindness is wisdom too,

As helping others, brings happiness to you.

To give thanks to the inexplicable Tao, what’s in a name anyhow?

Nature's symble for The Eightfold Path.

Nature’s symbol for The Eightfold Path.

Appreciate with joy and delight,

Do not argue over who is right.

To appreciation nature’s gifts is a prayer to the supreme.

To argue over a name makes the beauty all obscene.

The stream runs to the ocean, every tear drop becomes one.

We all bleed the same colour, why can’t our life be more fun.

The storm has passed.

The storm has passed.

The tear drops fall like rain,

 All this fighting is insane.

Like the Christian who has found God I want to share with you.

A way to peace and contentment, that’s an admirable thing to do.

The joy that I have found.

I want to share around.

The light is behind the clouds and trees.

The light is behind the clouds and trees.

I do not think God was ever lost,

Man gets lost and pays the cost.

Lost unmindful of our emotion,

Like a storm raging on the ocean.

Stop look up at the stars above.

Do not kill the things you love.

The sand on the beach the stars in the sky,

We are so small you and I.

Thanks for another good morning.

Thanks for another good morning.
