You need facts not fiction.
What has caused our disagreements and arguments? Our problems stem from ignorance and they continue because of ignorance. Other defilements such as wanting possessions, power and position over others also play a big part.
Primitive man was ignorant of the causes of the elements that controlled his survival. Animism was an attempt to explain, the sun and rain and all the elements affecting his survival. This gave birth to shamans and witch- doctors, clever, devious people that claimed they could communicate with the e spirits world. This gave them standing and power in the tribe.
This was in the time of the hunter gathers as man progressed to domesticating animals and cultivating crops he became less nomadic. Villages grew and man became more reliant on the clever ones to lead them.
Cities and civilisations were formed. A clever leader created gods and raised taxes to build temples and idols of their gods. Many gods were created to meet all occasions. A hierarchy of priests invented dogmas controlling the people with fearful gods. Sultans and kings consulted the priests on how to manage their people.
Having many gods caused discord in the community, as it does to this day. Abraham united his people by giving them a vengeful jealous all powerful god that would not allow worship of other gods. Although the Jews were his chosen people they have been homeless and persecuted throughout history.
Strong walls were necessary to protect crops from animal invasion backed up with armies, to protect the wealth of prestigious rulers and their religious priests. Many rulers were psychopaths. All were sick some proclaiming Divine right some claiming to actually be gods. Greed ruled as it does to this day. Greed goes with ignorance, as wisdom is followed by peace and contentment.
Knowledge is not synonymous with wisdom, knowledge gave man bronze, iron, steel, gunpowder and the atom bomb. The technology we have today all came from knowledge. Technology allowed the powerful to invade, plunder, dominate and take control of other countries. Technology correctly used benefits man, but the ignorant abuse it. Wisdom must be practiced in the use of technology.
That very brief outline of the history of man, if taken seriously and followed up by diligent research, from proven sauces, will contribute to enlightenment. Feeding the mind on nourishing wholesome food is the way to bring peace into our life. There are still foolish people that believe witch-doctors and cunning leaders. These gullible people are not evil it is what they accept without question that is evil.
Matter-of-fact all the way, jack, summarising salient aspects of how humankind evolved, in some ways, and devolved, in several other ways, to present day realities. Greed and lust for power created religions, religions created gods, and religions and gods together divided the earth, and divided human minds. Those who
realise this truth must align in greater numbers to fuel a peaceful, silent revolution in the right direction, to eventually reconcile at the stage of oneness. We may not live to see it through but we can all be part of that process in our own ways…best wishes… Raj.
Very well said Raj, and you too Jack.
To know you and Raj understand my post and agree with my message lets me know my post is not altogether a waste of time. If only I could create a miracle and make the blind see. _/\_
Having agreement on this post by well read educated people like Hariod and yourself. Gives me hope that my writing is not in vain. Hopefully others will realise this truth and create a peaceful silent revolution.
Along the lines of Ghandi, boycotting the materialistic system and living in a minimalistic way. Creating a caring society not based on gross national product. This wasteful consumer based economy can not be maintained it is incompatible with conservation. I do not know how we can stop the down ward trend except by trying to be a good example our self and that is difficult as no one wants give up the good life. Still if we can just do our best to conserve and live a simpler life style closer to nature. Focusing on sharing and caring about the world at large.
So true, jack, our life is our message, and in saying this, I am again quoting Gandhi when he said, ‘my life is my message’…best wishes.,. Raj.
Well said Raj, we may not live to see it through.. but we are part of bringing awareness in our present reality.. 🙂 Many thanks
Jack another brilliant piece of writing to tickle our brains, I hope it reaches those parts of brains that need to listen to your wisdom. 🙂 May we all of us start to ‘Question!’….
Blessings _/\_ Sue
Did you notice the link on the word history in the post. It is to a link to a synopsis of a book “Guns, Steel and Germs, I think you would enjoy, if you have not already read it.
You are right “Question” keep an open mind.
I thank you for the blessings, may the force be with you.
The force to me is as difficult to explain as the electricity that flows through everything from the protons and electrons in atoms to every physical thing in the universe, keeping them all in balance. I associate this force with the laws of nature.
When I am closest to this force is in Mother Natures garden. _/\_
I have to say Jack I did miss that link, I will be sure to click it and follow through when I am next on your page again 🙂 Yes we are all connected via our Energy Bodies Jack.. May the Force always flow through you my friend _/\_
No worries, the book takes time to read but it was well worth the time. Wikipedia gives a good idea of what it is all about in a few minutes and you can take it from there if you like. _/\_
Well said Jack I love your words , . I can’t always put into words/ writing how I feel about things in this World. Your words have spoken for me Jack. Thank you.
