PC Problems Bring Opportunities.
I am not Robinson Crusoe, you have all been marooned, cut off from the cyber space world by a computer glitche.
This creates no real problem, unless you are not relying on your PC for your living.
As a mater of fact it did me a favour.
I got back into enjoying some basic activities.
One was my art, I will never be a Leonardo but that does not matter. What matters is it is a relaxing pass time that opens ones eyes to the natural wonders surrounding us.
Pauline was inspired to try her hand at drawing, when she saw, how a small pad and box of pencils could keep me amused while waiting on delayed transport and like situations.
With free time we joined an art group. The teacher Denise Kirk has for 35 years been teaching people how to really see the world around them.
An ex commercial artist who has written and illustrated a book, called Art Workshop. This book teaches one how to draw and paint. It is a well written book that contains wisdom quite beyond a mere art book.
It motivates ones to observe beauty in the every day common place things we have come to disregard.
In a light-hearted way we are taught to see again with the fresh eyes of a child.
Computers are wonderful but like all the fantastic inventions they have a tendency to take over our life. We no longer have time for the simple enjoyment of hands on activity.
This post is appropriate for Zeebra’s post Time Out For Art. Lisa is another inspirational artist.
After way too few hours of sleep, I am awake and about to resume my travels… but wow, i am so happy to be in a location where the internet is indeed working, as this post has warmed my heart! thank you so much for allowing us to peer over your shoulder — i love all of the drawings – the chubby man made me smile (and it is a grand capture) and even down to the eye glasses – your happiness is contagious!
You have experienced lots of PC and climate and weather problems.
But you have shown in your blog how to smile and not let them dampen your love of life.
The eye you painted as a deterrent was an example of your great attitude.
Looking at my pictures lets people know art is all about looking, enjoying and appreciating the world around us.
Your last line let me know my sketches are achieving their desired affect.
Good as your instructor may be you need some talent and I really enjoyed your sketches. I agree that fun as the technology can be – finding balance is itself an art😃
Like riding a horse balance is needed.:-)
Seriously balance is an art of the most importance. The Taoist idea of Ying Yang.
When Ying and Yang are in balance there is perfect harmony. Thanks for letting me know your thoughts.
Delightful sketches Jack; you are both an artist and philosopher. I particularly was drawn (sic) to the reflective kettle. All best wishes my friend, Hariod.
Thank you Hariod I like the kettle too because of the abstract feeling it provokes.
There is more to this sketch than a casual glance see, yes I am right in it with this free and easy sketch.
So pleased with your comment.
Thanks Jack!
You are a talented person Jack and a smart one too. It is the truth. Accept it. 🙂
That is a very nice compliment, from a very nice person, that knows what she is talking about.
Jack _ I actually enjoyed this post last week but was not able to leave a comment – but I love your light and easy sketching – the big belly guy is my favorite – but the reflection in the tea pot was second – and not that I always rate them – because who can really do that – and each has their own feel and make for a complete post – but sometimes it just helps me share my thoughts to say a fav… lol
Thanks, it is my aim to show how wonderful life can be when you are on the right path.
I can only point the way, is a Buddhist saying and a very appropriate one._/\_
🙂 ❤ thx dr. J
Great to have time away from the PC.. Glad though you were able to post your lovely drawings Jack.. That kettle looks nearly the same as one I own.. 🙂 You are a very talented artist Jack..
My absent time I have been painting of a different kind.. Well papering and decorating the spare bedroom to be precise.. But clearing the small box room out which was made into my paint/craft studio last year.. but we had so filled it with other things I could hardly get in there..
So my time away from WP and in reflection has been a two fold learning journey..
We not only decorated, but cleared out lots of unwanted items for charity.. And I now have a space to do my artwork again..
Many thanks Jack for sharing your time away from your PC with us .. being creative and hands on is so rewarding..
Have a wonderful weekend..
Blessings my friend _/\_ Sue
I have a problem with parting with things surplus to requirements but when I finally make the break it is a satisfying feeling of achievement.
As for the painting Pauline and I have been planning to redo the kitchen, but the trip around Australia put that on the to do list, How long ago was that? So that is a Joy we still have to look forward to, when we are in the mood.
It is good I am back in the habit of caring a mechanical pencil that fits in the coiled spiral spine of the small sketch pad.
There is never a dull moment and no one is safe from my unflattering pencil.
No need to wish you a wonderful week, by your writing I can tell you are back in the flow. In natures tranquil flow, the best way to go. Yes we are in for the pleasure of some joyous uplifting posts from Sue Dreamwalker _/\_
When ever I go away on holiday Jack.. I always take my sketch pad and pencil and a small tin of watercolours just for good measure.. 🙂
Once to sit down and start sketching its amazing how many people hang over your shoulder and start a conversation.. And thank you.. Hope to get back into the Swing of some posts. inbetween knitting myself a summer short-sleeved cardigan now.. the back and one front completed.. Oh and I managed to sew the flower seeds in trays which are basking in today’s Sun on the Kitchen window sill.. 🙂 Getting all geared up now for Spring! _/\_
Spring! Have agood one Sue than warm summer. Your seasons have more contrast than here
