Sing-Along with jack.
I want this post to be fantastic. I want all my posts to be fantastic. Maybe sometimes they do strike a chord with those I am in tune with. I know at times I do hit the right note when I get a comment to that effect. That is music to my ears when friends join in my little sing-along. It would be wonderful if the whole world could agree on what song to sing along to, perhaps it would be a lullaby, and stop all the unrest. It is good if we can agree to sing-along with some of the hits we all like and if the song others are singing does not suit us, we can listen to their song, we should not boo and deride.
This post will not be top of the hit parade, if I harp on about my ideas, up on stage singing the blues of impermanence, then waltzing along the Eight Fold Path, then my hymn on the Dow, balancing it out with Yin and Yang, concluding with a grand finale of country music featuring Mother Nature as guest artist. I have been singing these old songs over and over like a cracked record, you would not know what that sounds like, am I showing my age? The old record is dated, hope I am not obsolete too and you understand my mature mellow melody.
How can I jazz up this act? I like all kinds of music but I am selective, I pick what I find the best for the occasion. A symphony of classical Brahms will put you to sleep so it serves a useful purpose to calm and relax, or is Bach a better bed beat; maybe Beethoven is better, it is what I call recovery music. Get up and go music is Rock ’n’ Roll or Heavy metal that is suitable when you are lethargic or want to do some cardiovascular exercise. There is also motivational music that lifts up your spirits. Music can change your mood better than prescribed pills or illegal drugs as there are no harmful side effects, except you do have to consider the neighbours. The volume can rupture your ear drums as well as your popularity with your neighbours. People are not easily disturbed unless they are stressed-out or neurotic. If you upset these people there could be repercussions. Weigh up whether it is wise to annoy people. It is your decision you can be like Sinatra and do it your way.
This sing song post is not fantastic. Its cryptic meaning may be missed, it may be too ambiguous. Hopefully it will be entertaining and provide food for thought. The cyber space, libraries and the world is full of eloquent writing from renowned authorities. The problem is we do not read lengthy time consuming literature on heavy subjects. We would rather sing a song or look at some colourful photos of flowers rather than taking the trouble of experiencing the best. The best is out there, but we need to get motivated. Music could be our motivation. Come on let us sing in harmony and appreciate all the best we can find in all the vast selection of choices.
